Misterio Sr.的真实姓名是Miguel ángel López Días。他于1976年开始摔角生涯，于2009年退役。他在2023年回归进行了一场比赛。

Mysterio继承了叔叔的名字，最初在WCW和ECW叫Rey Mysterio Jr.，之后在2002年达到WWE后名字简化为Rey Mysterio。

1995年，Mysterio和叔叔Misterio Sr.一起赢得了WWA Tag-Team Champions。

Rey Mysterio的父亲Roberto Gutierrez刚刚在几周前去世。
